It’s Denver Design Week! I was lucky enough to snag a pair of tickets, on Instagram of all places, to a sold-out talk called “A S*Park of Inspiration: How Branding Affects Place.”
A S*Park of Inspiration:How Branding Affects Place
Our four speakers had backgrounds ranging from creative director to architect. The most exciting part of the discussion was learning about the branding of a unique mixed-use living space called S*Park, short for sustainability park. The major branding element is a firefly. Creative Director, Josh Willis, talked about wanting something sustainable, that creates energy. They already had the name “Spark” and as he pointed out, it would have been easy to design a lightbulb logo. However, fireflies create their own sustainable energy. They use the firefly in place of the asterisk in the logo.
I enjoyed being a part of Denver Design week and left feeling inspired.
